While carrying out the operations using H13 steel, the following temperature range is suitable:


  • 1825-1900 °F for hardening
  • Tempering temperature: 1000–1200 °F

What are its physical properties?


To find out about the physical properties of H13 tool steel, you have to check out its melting point and density, which are as follows:


  • 1427 °C is the melting point.
  • At 20 °C, the density is 7.80 g/cm3.

What about its mechanical properties?


H13 steel tends to show different reactions upon heating. Here are a few glimpses:

  • Modulus of elasticity- 215 GPa at 20 °C
  • Tensile strength range- 1000-1380 MPa and 1200-1590 MPa
